You look back at those heroes and compare them to what Hollywood is now...boy are we in trouble. Sean Penn and Matt Damon play soldiers in movies for millions of dollars, but would dodge a snowball fight, much less do anything brave for their country.

he left home at age 19 to join the Canadian Forces, fighting with the Allies in World War II. After outscoring his fellow soldiers on an officer's exam, he became Captain in the Royal Canadian Artillery. While leading his men into battle on D-Day, Doohan was wounded in the leg and hand, and eventually
lost a finger. For the remainder of the war, he became an artillary pilot observer.

Here are some I found for you.  The only "Frank" I can see is Frank Gorshin who played the Riddler in the original TV Batman series.

You know, it's kinda odd I found this thread.

I just found out at my family reunion this past July that we have a geneaologist in the family who spent the last three years digging into the family history. Spent time travelling all over the U.S.

It turns out that I am related to Audie Murphy! (although not immediately)
You could have knocked me over with a feather!
My Grandmother used to tell us that, but we always thought she was BSing us!
