I usually play FPS on console just for the reasons you listed. They seem to be more trouble than their worth on PC.

As for mods, I was always a Historical Stony Road fanatic.

HoI III Release date Aug 15th!!
Tell friends and family goodbye, schedule vacation days, stockpile junk food and soda!!!

Germany first, I just love the challenge of trying to grab Europe and hold it against the rest of the world. Then once I get the feel for it, U.S.

yeah there's something always to do while playing Germany.   With the US the fun doesn't start till half the game is over, but it's still fun to play super-navy Smiley

Haha yea, I always start any country at '36 so I can set up research and construction just so. But playing U.S. you have to spend 5-6 yrs just watching the world circle the drain. But by the time its over I generally leave the Japanese home islands a smoldering radioactive ruin...And a few times I said hidee ho to the Rooskies on the banks of the Vistula!!! Grin Grin Grin

Looks like HOI3 isn't doing so hot on the markets at the moment. Sad

In other news, since I've been reading the old testiment some I have the urge to find a Bronze Age mod for a Total War game now. Tongue

Exciting times those were, Egyptians, Israelis (they came around the Bronze Age collapse though) Hittites, Greeks, (didn't start devoloping until mid Bronze age if you don't count the Minoans) Assur, Babylon, late Sumeria (it fell towards the beginning of the Bronze age Tongue )

I got impatient and bought HOI3 off of steam (download), not the box (not out yet).

In 2 weeks they'll have a patch which fixes the 30 SECOND COMPUTER FREEZES!

They'll fix it.  Even with the lag it's mega cool.

Wait for the box, or 2 weeks from now.
