Conservative Novels?

Hi Folks,

There are been many excellent books for Conservatives published in the last few years, but the majority of these have been nonfiction. Nothing wrong with that of course, but when I want to give a book to a young person to introduce them to Conservative principles, I give them a novel since I believe a novel will be more accessible to a modern kid than, for example, Mark Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny, (excellent though it is).

I’ve started a page on my website that lists my favorite Conservative novels.
I have several books up so far, but would like to add more. The mission of the page is to list books that actively teach a Conservative subject; as opposed to just being in agreement with Conservative values. Therefore, I’m looking for more books like Michael Creighton’s indictment of the Global Warming movement “State of Fear” rather than a Louis L’Amour western.

Can you help me add titles to the list? My website is: TheSwordofFire
Just enter it into Google and my site is listed first.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Bill McGrath

Anything written by Stephen W Meader.  He wrote 44 books form 1920 to 1969 mostly geared for the teenage boy, but my wife was the one who turned me onto him.  She and her brothers all read his books growing up and I enjoy them as an adult.  My thirteen-year-old son has recently started reading them.

The books involve a teenage protagonist often on the fringe of historical events who has to learn the morals, work ethics and industry they will need as an adult.

True the books are a little old but conservative values have not changed.  Reproductions of the books can be order on www.southernskies.com

Another fun book is "The dangerous book for boys" by Hal Iggulden.  He will trick your kid into learning something and he will be having too much fun to care

Not conservative per say, but Gorge Orwell seems to be growing in popularity. My conservative grandmother loves him. Her favorite Gorge Orwell is 1984. I have read it a few years back in high school. It about how a once democratic society pretty much becomes a socialist nation. It's not a book pointing out why socialism is bad directly, but it's plot is about a guy thinking for himself. Really great book, I shure other can vouch when I say it's a classic.

Also sorry for bumping a old thread, but I like to read.

All of Ayn Rand's books are good, of course not everyone will even bother to try to read atlas shrugged without some prompting. A better place to start I think would be Anthem. It's the book that side 1 of Rush's 2112 album is based on.

HEY GABRIELE:  Make sure you also read The Fountainhead, by Ayn Rand.  Also you MUST find a copy of The Devil's Advocate, by the great patriot, TAYLOR CALDWELL (she wrote it in 1952, but it is available on used book sites under her name).  Also try to find a copy of her short story titled HONORIA.  Very prophetic, and very frightening, but MUST READING!!  You might be able to access a copy of it on the web.
