Standings still too early, a little askew for now.

Blue Jays should enjoy the top whyle they can.  Yanks exactly where I expected them.  Second.  A couple at bottom I think will be on top in end and vyce versa.  Certainly didn't expect to see White Sox or Angels in last nor Giants in first.  Phillies where I thought they would be.  Most others pretty much on pace for now.  And what is Oakland doing up there?  I thought they would be afraid of heights?   Cheesy  j/k Young Mak!  Wink

Letdowns so far?

Ortiz creating buzz in Beantown he may just not be the same after another slow start.

Texiera of Yanks getting borderlyne dangerous to exacting the wrath of NY fans especially if his .083 BA begins to cost them games.  Unbelieveable that the guy is making 22 million a year and has almost nil to show for it so far.  Hopefully he'll break out of what has to be one of the worst starts in baseball.

Chris Carpenter of St. Louis causing concerning as he's given up a batch of dingers already after hardly giving up any all last year.  Could there be something wrong with him?

Seattle I am sure looking forward to getting Cliff Lee back from his injury.
Can he be as dominant though?  He has been known to be up and down?

Well, we did have a little extra action today!

Jimenez of Rockies pitches first no-hitter in Rockies history against Braves!  Cool

http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/36620966/ns/sports-baseball/

And Cards and Mets are in scoreless game in 17th inning.  Been watching this one all afternoon into evening.

Mets finally win in 20....2 to 1.  Mets score 1 in 19th, Cards tie in bottom of 19th.  Mets score again in 20th!  WHEW!!! Cards used two position players to pitch and a pitcher to play left field.

Have to add a little rant.  Just one of my pet peeves.  Just makes me wanna reach into the screen and bytch slap someone!

WHY...WHY...would anyone want to spend all that money on a game and then sit there inning after inning.....on a cell phone in the stands??  Roll Eyes

What are they.....freaking morons?  Why don't they just bring coloring books to distract themselves with?  I can see getting a call for a minute, but I catch glimpses of the same few people for more than a few innings and the same moron is STILL sitting there on his cell.

Please!  Just let me reach in the screen just one tyme?  PLEASE!!!

Cal Ripken Jr. ponders return to baseball, but in what role?

After nearly nine years away from Major League Baseball, Cal Ripken Jr. says he is about ready to return to the game.

The Hall of Famer released a statement today clearing up his status after conflicting reports over the weekend raised questions about whether Ripken has been pursuing a job with the Orioles.

more

I sure hope he's talking about some mgmt role.  He's talking about returning in a 'few' years????  I can't stand these guys who want to come back out of retyrement to relive some glory days.  In his case, it would be a bit selfish to take some younger player's spot just because of his 'name'.
His 'name' bought his way on to All Star teams he didn't deserve to be on in his later years as it was.

I still think Lou Gehrig held a more honest record for consecutive games.

Gehrig never went on stryke.  Cheesy

This is not a new news post but a I am enjoying baseball so far this season.. I am keeping my eye on Detroit, I like Willis and Damon. My beloved Padres have won a couple, It is soo early yet.. I watched the Yankee's and Obama's other favorite team last night the A's. I think I am going to be ...wait for it nyte_byrd  a Yankee fan !!!!!!  I guess since I am a "just this season" fan then It is not really a true fan!   Who on the Baltimore team separated his muscle from the bone? I heard the Yankee play by play guys talking about it. Whom ever it was, was batting .400? He will be out 4 months. That hurts me just thinking about it!!

Not sure, but I am guessing maybe you are referring to Brian Roberts who is out with a back injury.

I miss seeing Baltimore being a competitor in the division lyke they once were.

Dontrelle came out of the chute fast and somewhat a phenom at first, but it seems he got a little too cocky and tyme will tell if he can back on his game again.  As he was coming along, his talking his talk began to catch up with his walking his walk.   He still has the potential to be as good as good as he started with the same consistency.  I think it's the 'consistency' he's been missing.  Either that, or the league just took its tyme and figured him out.

Padres?  Early or late.....IMO, I don't think it will much matter.  I don't think they will be able to compete with Dodgers or Rockies.  Giants just off to a fluke start.  But I must say, I am impressed to see Barry Zito on a comeback earning the money he wasn't earning the past couple of years.

Sure, you can be a Yankee fan.   Smiley  Better hurry though.  There's only one seat left.  Wink
