Haunted Hotel: 2 Giants Check Out

http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/sports/Sandoval--Renteria-Leave-Giants-97833389.h...

Quote:
You can add Pablo Sandoval and Edgar Renteria to the list.

Milwaukee's historic Pfister Hotel is a hit with tourists, but continues to strike out with Major League Baseball players.  Sandoval and Renteria left the Giants team hotel and checked in at another property down the street.

Why?  Ghosts.

The 117-year old hotel is said to be haunted.  Several players from other teams, including Adrian Beltre, have reported strange sounds during the night while staying at the Pfister.

While Sandoval and Renteria room elsewhere, the other Giants are just fine.  In fact, the struggling team picked up a much needed win on Monday, beating the Brewers 6-1.

Aubrey Huff had 3 hits, including a 2-run single in the 7th inning.

If anything, it looked like Miller Park was haunted as the Brewers essentially gave away the game with a costly late-inning error.
Huh

Yankees reportedly on verge of getting Cliff Lee

http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/38167542/ns/sports-baseball/

Not sure how solid this is, but rumor has it, it may be done deal by today.  Ironically enough, Lee is scheduled to pitch against Yanks this evening.  Trade supposedly includes Yanks top minor league prospect Montero.  This would enable Yanks to compete with Red Sox stacked star studded pitching staff.  Of course, Yankee haters will once again use the cliche 'they bought it' alibi.  The Phillies could get Roy Halladay.  No one claims the Phillies bought it.  The Red Sox could get Lackey.  No one whynes they bought it.  When the Wontbebacks got Randy Johnson and Schilling, no one said Boo!  But let the Yankees get a class pitcher, and it's "They bought it, crap, all over again!  I guess just the other teams are eligible to obtain upcoming free agents, ryte?  Wink  This also puts the Yanks in position to deal inconsistent Javier Vasquez although I would prefer to see them dump Burnett somehow.

Looks lyke Yanks-Cliff Lee deal fell through.  Lee went to Rangers instead.

Yanks talking Roy Oswalt now.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/418177-see-ya-lee-yankees-should-turn-attenti...

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/418235-breaking-news-cliff-lee-is-now-a-texas...

And with the Yanks-Lee deal had supposedly been a done deal in verbal agreement till it fell through, the sportscasters were already harping on the 'they bought it' BS!  Roll Eyes

Now that he went to Rangers who also have a very talented pitching staff and team, will they say the same thing?  NOOOO!  Of course not!! Only when it's the Yankees do they whyne!  Angry

touchy, touchy. Grin  Y'all just won the World Series.

Always glad to see the Yankmees lose out on a guy who could have beaten the Sox in Sept.  And maybe even the Rangers can do something magical and actually make the playoffs.

I've still got my byrd seed on the Angels taking that division and the White Sox and Red Sox taking the other two divisions, on my pre-season picks on the predictions post.  Smiley

Pettite left game early with groin injury.  Yesterday, Burnett left early with hand injury.  The tattooed freakoid idjit, lost his temper in dugout and punched some plexiglass and cut up his pitching hand!  Real smart!  Now ya see why I been sayin' I wish the Yanks could dump him?  Doubt they will though.  He should get fyned for that.  Last tyme someone pulled some stunt lyke that, it was when Yanks wasted their money on Pavano when he he got a self sustained injury at home and then lied about it.  Of course, NOW he's pitching good.  Roll Eyes

Ya know, I lyke the Rays team, and when they beat the Yanks I give them credit.  I think they even beat Rivera and caused him to blow one of the few saves he did blow.  They are a good comeback team too.

What I HATE is their biased Yankee hater announcers, Dwayne Statz and Brian Anderson.  When the Rays comeback, they are always pointing out how they 'never give up'.   BUT...when they YANKS come back as they did in beating them 2 of 3 this weekend, all they have is excuses and alibis saying how the Rays had opportunities they blew and how they should have won those two games, too.  Roll Eyes  As if I didn't sit and watch enough games the Yanks lost to the Rays where the Yanks didn't take advantage opportunities.  Oh, in THOSE games, all they say is how the Rays are a good comeback team!  Sheesh!  Gimme a break and at least give the other team credit where it's due as I do!  Only announcers I could think of who were or are worse, Hawk Harrelson of the White Sox, with his 'can of corn', and his 'good guys' and most sickening
"YES-S-S-S-S".  Roll Eyes and Tim McCarver.

I remember watching the first 3 Star War movies.  I don' remember anyone not affiliated with the Empire cheering for the Empire.

Face it, no one is going to be pro-Yankee.  It goes with winning, what is it now, 28 Championships?

Everyone loves the Cubs because they are lovable losers.
