Tropical Depression Intensifying in Caribbean, May Affect Gulf Oil Spill
A tropical storm that has already dumped heavy amounts of rain on the Caribbean islands of Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba may intensify this weekend and head for the United States in the Gulf of Mexico.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service said the storm still has a 40% chance of turning into the seasons first named storm, Alex, before it decides which direction it wants to go in. The weather, winds and warm waters of the Gulf are helping the storm make its way to the Gulf Coast states.
