I s'pose that the Rays are more than happy to have this happen to someone else.

Congrats to Garza on the 5th no hitter of the season.  Cool

Glad to see you didn't miss that one either.  Have missed seeing you here.

Thought maybe you got kidnapped and taken hostage at Fenway or something.  Cheesy

Another no-hitter?

I did a google search concerning no hitters in a single season.

Most:

8 in 1884.--------------------- I guess thats disregard-able.

Most in modern era:

7 in 1990 and 1991.

if wikipedia can be trusted, that is.

I believe they mentioned only two existing teams have not had a no hitter in their history now.  The Rays were one of the last three.

The remaining two are the Padres and the Mets.  Surpryzed one being the Mets with all the great pitching they had over the years.  Probably had a lot of one and two hitters I'll bet, especially back in the Seaver, Ryan days.

another google search finds that the Mets have had 34 one hitters.

I couldn't find a link that showed how many 1 hitters the Padres have had, but I did dredge up the fact that the Padres have never had a player hit for the cycle.
