GOP Poised To Take Control Of Senate
Feb 19th, 2012, 5:09pm

For a clear Tea Party win big again this election, a good start would be for Republicans to take control of the Senate while holding control of the House.  A pick up of four Senate seats - which I think likely - is necessary.  In reality, I think they need to win five, because I would be AMAZED if Scott Brown wins his race in Massachusetts.

Democrats play defense in U.S. Senate races -- http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/article/democrats-play-defense-us-sen...

Despite a lower jobless rate and a recent uptick in President Obama's approval ratings, Democrats are poised in November to lose their Senate majority and hand over control of Congress entirely to the Republican Party.

With 22 Senate seats up for grabs this fall, Democrats are fighting to hold on to their 53-47 seat majority. They must defend at least seven seats considered "tossups" and are watching three others that could become competitive.

Republicans, who already have a 24-seat majority in the House, need to win just four more Senate seats to achieve a 51-seat majority in that chamber. Republicans already have a head start in Nebraska, where they are favored to snatch away the Senate seat being vacated by Democrat Ben Nelson.

"Even if the economy continues to do better and even if Obama is re-elected, assuming it's not landslide proportions, I would still bet that Republicans will hold the House and pick up the Senate," pollster Ron Faucheux, president of the Clarus Research Group, told The Washington Examiner.

If we do, it will be necessary to have a Senate leader who will aggressively push Reid around and put him in his place.  McConnell can't do it, and it's time for new conservative blood.

I think we are going to win in Nebraska, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Missouri.

I hope we can win in New Jersey, Michigan, and CT.

I would encourage all of you to familiarize yourself with at least 5 GOP candidates, including in your home state if that applies.

As far as the new GOP leader, I would recommend Sen. John Cornyn of Texas for the job.
