I was hoping the Yankees would make a move for Iwakuma and
Zobrist.  Not much out there left worth picking!  James Shields?
Whoopy Doo!  He's too inconsistent.

Cincinnati Reds trade stalls after star closer accused of choking girlfriend
Foxnews.com

The proposed trade sending Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman to the Los Angeles Dodgers appeared to be on hold Monday night after Yahoo Sports reported that police investigated an accusation of domestic violence involving the pitcher.

Yahoo reported more than a dozen police officers responded to Chapman's home in Florida on Oct. 30. His girlfriend reportedly accused him of choking her and pushing her against a wall before he allegedly fired as many as eight shots in his garage.

Once again Milwaukee is proving what I have always said about them to be true. -- The Brewer organization is the best farm system in baseball. Unfortunately not only are they trying to pass it off as a major league team, butt they also act as the farm system for the rest of Major League Baseball.

Nyte_Byrd, I especially like the Yankees updates.    Smiley  Question:  Who was the first baseball player to make 1 million dollars a year?  (I really don't know).  I remember Earvin "Magic" Johnson was the first athlete to earn $1 million a year.  Thank you for sharing.

Without looking it up intially, Catfish Hunter and Andy Messersmith came to mind, only because I believe they were a couple of the first
free agents when free agency came into play.

But the answer (after looking it up) is....

In 1980 Nolan Ryan became the first million dollar player when he signed a four-year free agent contract with the Houston Astros for one million dollars per season. The salary quadrupled what he had been making with the Angels

http://blog.surepayroll.com/catfish-hunter-sports-first-million-dollar-a-year-ma...

"Nolan Ryan, inked a four-year, $4.5 million deal just five years later with the Houston Astros, making him the first to average at least $1 million a year over the duration of a contract,"

"Technically, major league pitcher Hunter is the first athlete in a major sport to earn at least $1 million in a season as part of his salary."
