MLB rule change could change dynamic of extra-inning games

In hopes of improving the pace of its games, Major League Baseball to experiment with new rule, automatically placing runner on second base to start extra-innings

That has got to be the stupidest idea in baseball I ever heard of.  Roll Eyes

Yeah, how about cutting out a few commercials.  They can charge more for the remaining ones.

I think there are other things to change that are more logical, like making both leagues either have the DH or neither have it.

I used to be in favor of the DH but not anymore.  More strategy without it.

I also don't care for interleague play.  Defeats the purpose of two teams facing off in a WS.  Not to mention diluted stats.

I'd even be more for having two  leagues with no divisions.
Top 4 teams in each league get in playoffs.  Not for the wild
cards either.   A one game playoff is dumb.

I agree with all of that.  Never understood why a pitcher should be replaced at the plate.  This isn't football.

That is even more stupid than the DH! The baseball gurus are hell-bent on killing the game.

Really to long. Easy fix. Just one less commercial per 1/2 inning. That's between 15-20 minutes of boredom right there. Also 30- 45 sec to look at an instant replay. there's another 5 minutes depending on how many replays there are. Lastly not allowing a team an entire minute to decide on an instant replay even when they've already used there two. That's just dumb.
Here just cut the game down 20+ minutes. One more speed up pitchers who are the human rain delays. Put a clock on the scoreboard and behind the plate.
