Critics to Ivy Leagues: 'Taxpayer gravy train needs to end'
By Jason Kopp   FoxNews.com

Over a six-year period, Ivy League schools have received tens of billions in tax dollars, bringing in more money from taxpayers than from undergraduate student tuition. In fact, they received more federal cash than 16 state governments.

The stunning numbers are all part of a new report, first seen by Fox News, released Wednesday by Open the Books -- a non-profit group whose stated mission is to capture and post online all disclosed spending at every level of government.

This is beyond disgusting!  Talk about the politicians taking care of their schools!

What's called The Harvard Research Institute is a case in point.
Institute revenue for this sprawling complex dwarfs the actual college.
Critics say it was a way for the feds to come in through the back door and rule this traditionally Protestant and Republican institution, Harvard, much in the same way the feds now rule over the public school systems. Really got going in the late '40's, but the seeds had already been sewn pre WWI.
Hard to know if law degrees for Baraq and Michelle culminate  great social progress, or are just another way for Washington to tell the citizens to go to hell.  (Maybe a little of both.)
