Nope - Now it looks like McConnel will defer Health Care vote because of McCain's surgery.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Saturday night he was deferring action on the measure as McCain recovers at his home in Arizona. Surgeons in Phoenix removed a blood clot from above McCain's left eye on Friday. The 80-year-old Senate veteran was advised by doctors to remain in Arizona next week, his office said.

"While John is recovering, the Senate will continue our work on legislative items and nominations, and will defer consideration of the Better Care Act," McConnell said in a statement.

McConnell doesn't want to lose any of the "NO" votes!

I have never understood why a person can stay on their parents policy until 26.  I can understand until high school, but after that, shouldn't a person start doing things on their own?

I would like to address this AGAIN.  We kept my daughter on our plan until they kicked her off at 26.  Remember, we STILL PAID FOR IT.  We paid an increased premium to keep her on our policy - it is not free.  Usually the employee only pays the least co-pay, increases with a spouse, and increases again with a child or children.

When this was enacted, the economy was very bad.  My daughter could not even get a part time minimum wage job.  So how the heck could they get health coverage?  There are still few jobs that are full time with beneifts.  That's why this provision was lobbied for.  Remember, YOU STILL PAY.

THE WORLD IS DIFFERENT NOW THAN WHEN WE WERE THAT AGE.  Employers are seeking to keep hours under those where health insurance is required.  It is not just lazy millenials - they do not have the opportunities to move on in the world in many cases.  Thank the rotten economy.  Don't blame them for all of it.  They will never have the tracks we did.

So, this puts my daughter into Medicaid, since health insurance is a LAW.  We paid for her to stay on our insurance which I think was better.  We paid another YEAR on COBRA for over $6,000, which we cannot afford.  Medicaid is "free," but the taxpayer pays for it,  and has limited her care greatly since not many doctors want to take it.  So if they stay on their parents policy, at least someone has to pay the premium.  I would be happy to still pay for her on our plan if we could.

Young people today do not have what we did.  Hope this explains it better.

I'm sorry Lilly, but no, you are very wrong. Millenials have nobody to thank for their problems but themselves. They are a lazy, whiney, entitled useless generation and they are for the most part getting exactly what they deserve. I do not and will not give them an ounce of pity. In my opinion had it not been for melinnials we would not have had 8 years of Obama. We owe them nothing and they will pay for the mistakes they have made.

Ocare needs to be repealed and a couple of laws passed to restrict the insurance companies from forming monopolies.

Other than that, leave HC the hell alone!

That is pretty harsh!  And it certainly can't apply to everyone in any particular generation.  I wish I could blame BHO on them, but I am not sure of the statistics on that.  I know people from every age group that voted for him.  He was a terrible mistake, but there is a LOT of blame to go around.

And they ARE having a very tough time moving along career wise and financially.  The opportunity for full time real career jobs was so few for them.  Jobs were not only not being created, but taken away.  I have empathy for that.  As a parent, I have LIVED through it.  My daughter would LOVE to be out of my house completely on her own!  Now she has medical problems that are skewing the picture for her.

I actually think the baby boom generation (that I belong to) is responsible for modern day liberalism.  It was in the 1960's when all social mores were challenged and led to their removal.  Watche d a documentary last night on the 1960's and television.  Wow, did they tear down EVERYTHING in it.  I was a bit young for the adult humor, but it was pretty stark.  It took awhile, but many in power today came from that.  It was, in its own way, WORSE than millenials.  I will defend them economically though.  I wouldn't defend it socially.  They got a rough deal getting started.  It may be hard to understand unless you've lived it with one (and friends and acquaintanances of her too) living right with me.  None of her college class were able to get jobs in graphic design, for example.

I would take my opportunities over what millenials have had available any day.

That's the problem. If he would have had Obamacare himself he would have probably died from this because the death panels would have refused this on such an old patient.
