The Senate is what has held up more getting done due to the Filibuster.  Judge Gorsuch would not have been Confirmed with the Filibuster.  I found a site which is recommending eliminating it and I sent a note to my Senators telling them this.  I did not hear back for Ted Cruz but did from John Cornyn.  It was basically telling me how long the Filibuster has been around and it has tradition and so on but he would consider supporting eliminating the Filibuster.  Sure he is, it was a letter to pacify the public.  They are happy as they are and I believe the GOP hope Trump fails.

Apparently they don't want to claim Trump, because he doesn't fit their picture of a "president", doncha' know?
They want a Romney who will sit for 8 years and do nothing, and that allows them to sit on their butts and enjoy the fruits of the job!

Agree Bigmck,  it is hard to call myself a republican when those in D.C. that call themselves republican, or call themselves Americans for that matter won't even support the person the "party" elected.... It is time to cleanout the septic tank D.C. has become. That is why we voted in Trump.  My opinion of any politician has really slipped to the bottom these last several years.  This is not the America I grew up in, nor is it the Democracy our Founding Fathers had in mind.  I think we have a bunch of crooks running our country that really only care about getting re-elected and lining their pockets rather than doing what the citizens want.   They will continue to talk out of both sides of their mouths and tell us what we want to hear, then go and do what they want,  kick the can down the road.  Bunch of damned crooks, and the same goes for our State Government here in hippy, progressive, green, ultra liberal Oregon!  Sickening..... I am signing out here again for awhile, just get too worked up.

Yep, All the vermin crawl lower than snakes. They will one day crawl up wanting to say "you were right" forgetting how they didn't listen, just like 5 yr or less old kids.  Then it will be too late.

They will never admit their error, not even when falling over the precipice into hell. This all seems to have a hint of the demonic.

When I was a kid at the ripe old age of 7, my dad gave me a Red Ryder BB gun.  I learned to shoot rats and sparrows with that gun.

At that time, Michigan had a major problem with rats.  Rats everywhere.  The same with sparrows.
So the state started offering 2 or 3 cents for each dead rat.

In one summer, I earned over $10.00.  I became an expert rifleman at that age.

Too bad we can't set bounties on some of the rats in DC!

Amen to that!!

Same here, I may be closer to a Libertarian now except some of their ideals such as military and military spending rub me the wrong way.... So for now, I shall remain a republican, whatever that means.....  Really what I am, is a conservative.... Most of these republicans just are not conservatives anymore--same goes for media outlets, hard to find a conservative one....

I looked long and hard at Libertarians, but decided I am not. I AM a constitutional conservative - someone who would have been labeled as a Liberal 200 years ago, before the humanist progressives corrupted the term "liberal" for their own use when progressive humanism was recognized for what it is and turned down flat.

The problem with the libertarian movement is they have bought into the social-liberal ideology of moral relativism (no absolute moral code, anything goes that does not bring harm to others, etc.) I do not buy into moral relativism, or anything even remotely resembling such. We can trace the vast majority of our current social and political problems to this idea - from "no fault" divorce to the free sex "revolution" to rampant drug use to more kids being born out of wedlock than in, the family unit in tatters, shoving Christianity in a deep, dark, shameful corner where it can not have any influence - along with the ensuing loss of related personal freedoms. We're a fracking MESS, socially and, as a result, politically. And most of it can be pointed (at least indirectly, if not directly) at humanism.

This is a great comment! That is why I would not vote for a libertarian either, as I disagree with them socially. I think that both social and fiscal conservatism are equally important. Sadly, it feels like true conservatives are a dying breed these days. I hope that this trend goes the other way soon - otherwise, thinking about the future will be more scary! But I doubt that the trend will go the other way in the near future, however, the way things seem to be going now.
Shocked

I consider myself to be more of a Christian conservative, by the way.

Attorneys do not like outsiders.

Trump is their outsider.

Corruption is the key-word.

I haven't called myself a Republican in (at least) ten years.    I am a conservative.    Yes, we are in a continual downward spiral.     The media is determined to destroy Trump and too many people believe everything the media spews.    We have too many people on government programs, too many people who can't think critically, too many people who cater to the rainbow crowd, too many immigrants.    Far too many people hate this country and want to make it part of a New World Order.

Last comment.... I went for a walk a few days back and noticed something very disturbing.  A local realtor here every 4th of July goes around to numerous homes on my walking route---approximately four miles and sticks little American Flags into the ground in front of homes next to the sidewalk.  Some idiot apparently decided he would come by, pull out the flags and stick the top end of the stick into the ground,  thus an upside down and dirty flag!!  Over half, maybe 50 flags were upside down on the route.  I fixed as many as possible, but some were broken....  That is the America we live in today..... No one thanks or thinks of the Veterans that fought for this country, shed blood,  died or came home maimed.  Sad indeed.  I really feel a great majority of our politicians could care less about what the flag, or America is suppose to stand for....  And one thing for sure, without a doubt, Obama and Hillary as well fall into that category....  This is a rapid death spiral for our country but I will try not to give up hope!  I really feel there is not much I can do but make my voice heard and vote the right way every time......... I thought maybe D.C. heard our voices in the crowds that attended Trump rally's, and in the fact he won the election..... Unfortunately our voice have not been heard or they just don't give a crap.
