The Unjust Destruction of Civil War Monuments - Exposing Revisionist History

Article by Stephen50right

Leftists these days are intent on revising our country's history and destroying our historical monuments. Race card, KKK card, Nazi card, or whatever is their “card” of the moment, they use to justify their far left goals.

As long as Donald Trump remains president, leftists will continue to complain, protest, and incite chaos to push their socialist agenda. They wish to tear up our constitution and burn our flag. That's what makes them leftists.

When leftists spew their revisionist history, and use it as an excuse for violence and anarchy, then they have to be dealt with accordingly. Their latest tirade is vandalizing Civil War memorials such as statues of Confederate heroes.

Countering the left's version of the Civil War era is important in memory of all those who died during that war. The honored dead would want the truth to be told, not some fabricated leftist story.

First, let's address the issue of slavery. We all agree that slavery is despicable and unacceptable. No one in the civilized world would debate that any longer. However the fact is that millions of black Americans owe their very lives to slavery. Without slavery, most black Americans living today would have never been born.

Revisionist history solely blames whites for the slave trade, when actually both blacks and whites were equally complicit. White slave traders were customers of the powerful black tribes of Africa. These powerful black tribes conquered the weaker black tribes, then offered the slaves to the white slave traders.

These white slave traders purchased the slaves for various prices at the trading posts on the African coast. Without this profitable transaction for the stronger black tribes, these captured blacks would have instead been slaughtered. Hence the lineage of most black people in America would have ceased to exist over 150 years ago.

Resources in Africa have always been scarce. Wars among black tribes for land, water, animal herds, and other needs for survival are recorded as some of the worst in history. Of course whites throughout history have also slaughtered each other. Historic brutality is shared by all races, colors, and creeds. So blacks certainly are not exempt from “man's inhumanity to man” unless revisionist history tells the tale.

Whenever some leftist demands “Reparations for slavery” because blacks were the victims of slavery, inform them that white taxpayers and others for decades have helped by giving blacks countless billions of dollars thru welfare payments, food stamps, and a wide assortment of other government subsidies. If any reparations were actually due from Americans, then black people have already been amply paid and more.

If American blacks want to collect unpaid reparations, then they should seek out the descendants of blacks in Africa who initiated and supplied the slave trade. This wouldn't be that difficult to do. The strong black tribes that were responsible for propagating the slave trade, over time merged with other strong black tribes to form various African nations. So it would just be a matter of tracing the founding of certain African countries to find those culpable.

No country in Africa, other than Liberia which offered freed black slaves an opportunity to live there, has ever given American blacks anything. American blacks could petition these African countries for reparations, but it is highly unlikely that any monies would ever be received.

What happened to Southern blacks after the Civil War ended? Some migrated up North to find work in the cities. Others moved out West, became cowboys, and joined with whites in the systematic slaughter of the Indians. However most Southern blacks went right back to work for their former slave master, but now as a paid employee.

The fact of numerous Southern blacks reuniting with their former slave masters, is proof that most plantation owners treated their slaves with dignity and respect. If they didn't, the now free blacks would have never gone back to work there.

Today there are millions of black people who have achieved success in America. But more needs to happen, primarily in the inner cities where for decades, the Democratic Party has miserably failed its black constituency.

The good news is that we elected Donald Trump as president. President Trump is a uniter, not a divider. He has placed a priority in his administration of putting America first, and that means providing all Americans with a better opportunity for themselves and their families.

Now, let's address the issue of the Civil War and why it was fought. Revisionist history comes into play that says the Civil War occurred because of slavery. That premise is not entirely accurate. Yes, of course slavery was a part of it. However the fact is that the Civil War was fought over cultural differences between the North and South.

More revisionist history is referring to the South as traitors. That is a false narrative. The Southern people were not traitors, they were rebels. They rebelled against an unfair system of taxes and mandates from the North whom culturally they had little in common.

The South had their lifestyle, and the North had their lifestyle. The North was fine with the status quo because they benefited economically from the South. But Southerners had grown tired of Northern politicians in Washington DC telling them what to do.

Southerners felt ignored and unappreciated, yet they were highly taxed. To the Southern people it was similar to taxation without representation, which was a factor in our Revolutionary War. The bottom line is that the South simply wanted their own country in which to live, prosper, and make their own laws.

When forming the Confederate States of America, the South wished for a peaceful breakup, then a continuation of a trading relationship with the North. The South wanted to continue to provide the North with agricultural goods, while buying industrial goods from them.

So instead of the North dictating policy and taxation to the South, the South with their own country could now take care of all that to their own satisfaction. While not having to bow down to the ruling pleasure of Northern politicians who treated Southerners as lackeys rather than fellow citizens.

This could have all been resolved peacefully thru the political process. Slavery would have eventually been abolished in the Confederate states for a number of reasons. Not only was slavery morally wrong, but it had become bad business in many aspects. Unfortunately the entire situation spiraled out of control and war ensued.

The South made two grave tactical mistakes which led to the demise of the Confederacy. One is that they should have never first attacked the North at Fort Sumter, even though it was on Southern soil. This call to war from impatience to achieve the split, motivated the North to battle.

A far worse mistake a few years later was Robert E. Lee invading Northern soil with Southern troops. Lee had no intention of trying to conquer the North, but the Northern people didn't believe that when they heard about Confederate soldiers marching into Pennsylvania.

This Southern “invasion” motivated the North to a new level. A level to which the superior industrial and military strength of the North, now had a highly angered populace.

Along with the Southern army defeat at Gettysburg, the war was now lost for the South without any realistic hope of keeping their new country. After Gettysburg, it was only a matter of time before the South was forced into unconditional surrender.

At this point there wasn't any possibility that the North was going to allow a hostile nation such as the Confederacy to border them. In the Northern mindset, the South if left alone as a country could attempt to conquer them sometime in the future. So the North wound up “conquering” the South, and the United States of America was made whole again.

Lastly, let's address the desecration and destruction of Confederate monuments. This should be unacceptable to all Americans. A famous old saying is “Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it” and that is absolutely true. History has shown in other countries that whitewashing the past can lead to a resurgence of similar atrocities from the past.

Confederate monuments not only help us to remember the past, but honor our fellow Americans who fought and died for their noble cause. These monuments also honor the tens of millions of Southern descendants who are alive today, contributing mightily in producing agricultural and industrial goods, and in many other ways which benefit our country.

Tearing down these Confederate monuments, dishonors every Southerner and all patriotic Americans. All Confederate monuments should remain, and any which have been torn down should be restored. Those with a desire for revisionist history must never be allowed to erase our heritage.

America is the greatest country in the world. The successful evolution of our country was brilliantly setup by our Founding Fathers. Our magnificent constitution and beautiful flag ensures that we will continue to make America great long into the future.

Took a bit to read all that, thank you.
The last thing the Rev Jesse Jackson wants to hear is reality.
Consider this, far more anglo's were enslaved by anglo's than blacks were enslaved by whites.  Include, far more Asians enslaved Asians than blacks were enslaved by whites
They'll never teach this in publics schools.

Yes, liberals such as Jackson don't wish to really know the truth and the facts. It deflects from their liberal/leftist narrative.

You are so right about Anglos and Asians. And for Anglos it wasn't nearly as long ago as blacks. There were millions of Anglo slaves in the WW2 era, many of whom perished by being worked to death by the Nazis.

Yes...public schools, administered by liberals, books approved by liberals, with liberal teachers. Indoctrinating children with their socialist ideas.
