quick survey for Republican America book project

Dear Fellow Republicans:

I am currently writing a book about our party.  More particularly, it is about Americans who choose to align themselves with the GOP. I am calling it Republican America.

Would you be willing to take a minute or so, to help me with this project?  I’d like a few lines from you, telling me why you personally are a Republican.  Phrase it however you like.  It can be about policies, issues, or principles.  And if you’d like to bring in specific topics,  like some of those below,  that would also be great.

● Second Amendment   ● Life   ● Immigrants   ● America First

● Taxes    ● China    ● Islam    ● Homosexuality    ● Climate

● Military Engagement    ● Education    ● Enterprise

I don’t need your name.  (But do tell me your state.)

Please send your response to republicanamerica (at) aol.com

And please feel free to share this with friends and colleagues. Also, if you have suggestions on how to reach more of your members and related groups, please let me know.

Many thanks, and sincerely,
Andrew Hacker

I'm a conservative so I'm usually at odds with the "modern" national republican party.

Why aren't we investigating the President and staff that held office while the supposed Russian interference occurred?

I voted for Ronald Reagan.

I joined the republican party this year.

Because we have a corrupt system remaining without a party makes winning an election almost impossible at a local state house level.

I will be a RINO. I am a conservative who wears republican clothing until I no longer need it. Parties are bad for the government, bad for the country, and bad for the people. Conservative principles are worth a lot more than being a republican is.

I believe in the founders understanding of what the country was set up to be and how it was to be run. Political parties were never seen as any part of that vision.

I consider myself a "Goldwater Republican."  I voted for Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and Bush41.  I haven't voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1992.  I am a constitutionally conservative "republican" (small-R).

I supported the GOP when their party platform included abolishing the Department of Education in 1980, and I supported the GOP when they passed the appropriation bills, as the US Constitution requires, when they controlled the House during the 1990s.  However, I have stopped supporting the GOP after they stopped abiding by the US Constitution in 1999.  Neither the GOP, nor the Democrats, have passed all 12 appropriation bills since 1998.  For the last 18 years the federal government has been funded by Continuing Resolutions, Omnibus bills, and Supplemental Spending bills.  Both Republicans and Democrats are shirking their constitutional responsibility.

I do not support the current Republican Party.  Should the GOP ever start abiding by the US Constitution again, then they will have my support, but not until then.  Currently the present day GOP reminds me of the Democratic Party of the 1960s, only the current GOP are out spending the Democrats of the 1960s, which is saying something.
