McConnell tries to defuse conservative anger over stalled judicial nominations

Quote:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is moving to head off a public fight with conservative outside groups that have become increasingly frustrated over the Senate's sluggish pace in confirming President Donald Trump's judicial nominees.

Conservatives have increasingly been angry over the Senate’s languid pace of confirming judges, which is exacerbated by Democrats’ use of procedural tools to delay nominations. Typically the Senate returns on Monday evening for a vote and by Thursday afternoon most senators are on planes back home.

This guy is completely worthless...

There's also a big push to unseat McConnell.  Let's hope it succeeds, or we'll never have ANYTHING done in the Senate.
(Even the House is griping at him about the bills waiting for Senate action!)

I predict he's going to have a short life in the Senate, unless he starts making a lot of people happier!

I think somebody like McConnell is so entrenched in the swamp he couldn't begin to understand why people would be angry with him.  He perceives himself to be more powerful than the President and doesn't support him. To McConnell it's all a game....to be sure Trump doesn't get what he wants, because McConnell is so far removed from the rest of the county he doesn't understand that Trump is doing what the PEOPLE want, or at least the people who elected Trump.

Let him try to defuse the anger, but he better be prepared for no success because even the most experienced EOD personnel can have a bomb blow up in their face. The anger of the Conservatives is a ticking time bomb and the way McConnell has fumbled around, he's already standing on a landmine. Come election time, with his poor approval rating, there might not be enough money to rebuy his Senate seat nor pieces of his career left to pick up. He may have to write a book  "What Happened II".

Hope you are right!!!! McConnell does not care what you think or TRUMP thinks. He owns 90% of the SENATORS and will never be voted out. He laughs at conservative pressure because they have no effect on him. Now what does effect him is WHALE Donors stop giving to his Senate PAC, Donations down to RNC or he DIES in OFFICE. That is real world on McConnell resigning.
TRUMP calling him out publicly probably will cause him heart burn but little else and using him to urge people not to vote for someone because McConnell is backing them like what happened in AL. That will effect his DONORS to his PAC and that will hurt HIM Bighly!!!

Not sure he's that invincible.

Boehner routinely thrashed all opposition, but then one day he was gone, and his little protege got wrecked when he tried to take over.

Corker knows he can't win now in 2018, after being Obama's beeyotch for Iran.  He'd be in the cabinet as a payoff for it, if we had Queen Hillary.  But now he's done, by Trump lol.

So there's always the long game.

Bitch McSpittle isn't unbeatable.

And just add Bannon to the equation.  It makes it 100% stronger.  I see good things coming, in a matter of months.  Other people like Corker will just not run, I'll be surprised if Flake does.

Bannon's stealing their money up front now, and will make them burn whatever they have in the bank on a lot of losses.

With a bunch of wins, Bannon steals control of the GOP from Bush- Rove- Kissinger - Brezinski et al.
