The first time I remember my father is him in uniform as he returned from Germany in September 1945. He looked like  a big green man to me in his olive drabs. Patton forced them to wear Class A uniforms in combat.

The word pink threw me off. It sounded like the prison garb in Arizona.
The new uniforms look fine to me.

The "Pinks" have always been worn by officers in WWII.  (Not having served in WWI, I can't speak for that period.)
