Unfortunately, damn few comprehend their constitutionally protects rights, and even fewer are familiar with relevant Supreme Court cases.

Not only should you never talk to law enforcement, you should never provide them with any form of ID (unless you are driving a motorized vehicle).  That is the most common request made by law enforcement, asking to see your driver's license or State ID.

If you are not operating a motorized vehicle (where you are required to have a driver's license and present it to law enforcement upon request) then you do not have to provide law enforcement with any form of identification.  However, there are some States that have "Identity Required" laws that requires you to identify yourself to law enforcement.  In such States the Supreme Court has held in Hiibel v. Sixth Judicial District Court of Nevada, 542 U.S. 177 (2004) that providing law enforcement with your full legal name verbally satisfies the requirements of the law.  Which means that in States with "Identity Required" you do have to speak to law enforcement, but only to give them your name.  You should say nothing else.

You should be prepared for threats by law enforcement.  They do not like it when citizens exercise their constitutionally protected rights.  They may threaten you with obstruction of justice or interfering with a police investigation, but you should not allow those threats to intimidate you.  Say absolutely nothing, beyond your full legal name if you live in one of those States with "Identity Required" laws.

Sure you could do that.  The next time you are stopped for Jay Walking do not identify yourself.  Just request a lawyer and say nothing else.  You would be out a couple thousand dollars for the attorney, but you did not have to talk to the policeman.  Yea, you came out ahead there.  Grin

People are sleeping here so I did not listen to the video.
IS this part of the no snitching stance?

Now I heard the video.
If I robbed a bank, of course I would want an attorney before I talk to the cops.
