I have been highly critical of mccain and the things he has done as a senator, but I will no longer speak ill of a dying man...

I can understand that but here is another view. How about as a dying man he does what he damned well knows Americans want and not what he wants for Americans.

Again, not that I want to defend mc traitor, but you’ve got to consider the source. I don’t think he returned to AZ to avoid the vote. He is sick, probably dying. They have the votes without him but he will return if for some reason one of the other traitors reneg and they need his vote after-all. This story is much ado about nothing.

Yet he will screw the will of the people, you and me with his dying breath. Sorry anyone else I wouldn't either but his hatred runs deep. Do what's right and vote!

I think you're probably correct.

The demise of John McCain as an honorable man has been sad to watch. Years ago I admired his service and his spunk and I truly am sorry for the health issues he faces. But there is not much to admire there now, sorry to say.

An honorable man would have resigned a long time go and let his seat be filled by a for sure Repub. that was healthy enough to meet the job requirements. An honorable sick man would do his damnedest to be sure and show up to vote "yes" to help the people of the US and his party, knowing that there is only a small majority and every vote is needed. However, we are talking about John "Songbird" McCain, who at this point, is a spiteful, hate filled shell who will vote against anything that is Trump's agenda either in person or by not showing up. I don't trust him one bit. Trump is right when he says they don't need McCain. That's a big for sure either way.

Sorry but I still disagree. He's not about to take his last breath. Whether he is "needed" or not, he has screwed the voters not only in AZ but the entire country multiple times. It's not that I am without any compassion. I do not wish death upon him but I will not make excuses for him either.

He could not separate his hatred of Trump from doing what was right for the country. This says it all and sums up his career. And, he's so happy and proud about it to boot!

Here's what I will remember.

In a dramatic turn, he cast a deciding vote against the Republican health care bill — a move that drew the wrath of Trump and conservatives. McCain's vote scuttled the seven-year effort by the GOP to dismantle much of President Barack Obama's health care law.

If he really cared, he would not blame his leaving on health.  He just want's an excuse so he does not have to cast the NO vote.
