I've been looking into Conservatism and was wondering if you could tell me the main differences between Conservatism and Libertarianism because it seems to me as if they have a lot in common. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Thanks for the welcome!  Smiley

I searched it but couldn't find a satisfying answer (the first result was a guy going on a rant about how conservatives supported slavery and were against interracial marriage) and wanted to see what actual conservatives thought on the issue. I'll continue searching though I'm sure an adequate description of the differences is there, I was just feeling lazy.

There is no definitive answer. Here is one thing I have noticed. Libertarians think that people should be able to do what they want as long as they dont harm or hinder others. Conservatives are more likely to inject their morals or religious beliefs into what they  think people should be allowed to do.

I see, that makes sense, I largely agree with the let people do whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt others stance, however, libertarians would extend that to things like abortion which I definitely do not agree with.

That's simply not true, libertarians believe in a free market which is about as far from communism as you can get.

That are very much, in fact, the same.  One big difference is libertarians go along the lines of Life, Liberty, and the persuit Of happiness.  Most Republicans are rino’s and have forgotten the core values of Washington, Hamilton, Buckley, Rand, and Reagan.
I, myself, am not a Republican.  I am very conservative.  More of a Whig or Federalist.  The closest party nowadays would be the American Patriot or Objectivist Party.
