I have seen that.  I have always assumed they meant "pay the same fee as what you paid for the first item".  Is that the scam?

The scam is found in what muffin posted. It proves a fool (a naive, uninformed, gullible buyer) and his money are soon parted!

I have tried to look this up online but no luck.  With the vast amount of knowledge here, I am sure someone knows.  ==  I play Powerball.  Here are some Winning Numbers.

1 of 5 w/Powerball      $4      09/02/2017      6 - 21 - 41 - 52 - 62      (26)

0 of 5 w/Powerball      $4      11/18/2017      17 - 28 - 31 - 32 - 39      (26)

Notice that the prize is the same, $4 even though one is one ball and the Powerball matched and one is only the Powerball matched.  Does anyone know why?  This is not a one time thing, it is always like this.

You get the 4 bucks for matching the PB.  You get nothing for matching 1 out of 5 of the regular numbers.

I know a lot of people that have won the Nigerian lottery.  Some more than once.

I agree, but I remember the first time I matched the PB and 1 of the 5 and I only got 2 dollars back. Those are the rules.

One of the primary factors included when calculating the lower prizes is the desire to grow the main jackpot as quickly as possible. A $400 million jackpot entices a hundred times the ticket sales over a $40 million jackpot. (I guess a measly $40 million just isn't worth it.....?) As such, some of the lower prizes will not in any way reflect the relative probabilities of winning.

Thanks, SueAnn.  My wife and I became registered Angus cattle ranchers 14 years ago when we retired and there is a very distinct difference between regular beef and Angus beef.  Our Mama Cows are like members of the family.  They are gentle, hardy, able to withstand the extreme weather conditions, and serve as fantastic mothers to their calves.  And, from a safety standpoint, they don't have horns.

You are very welcome, Agman.  Thank YOU for making such a superior product available to those of us that can't raise our own dinner entrees.
Now I can feel even better about buying Angus beef.  It is truly MADE IN AMERICA!!! Wink

I won't call you an idiot for buying My Pillow. I understand the importance of a good pillow(s), and I don't blame one for buying a My Pillow in hopes of finally getting some relief.

If I really thought My Pillow would make my sleeping more comfortable, I would by one. My complaint, as I already stated, is for the company to try and make me believe I'm getting a second My Pillow for free -- plus "free" shipping to boot!

So many companies use this same advertising ploy when they market their products on TV.

The second item and so called "free" shipping is just built into the price -- and not listed as a separate cost.

Now I'm seeing TV advertisments saying buy one, get a second one free -- just pay a separate fee!

Fee? If the second item is free, why would one need to pay a separate fee?

They used to say: But wait! Get a second item free, just pay an additional shipping charge (which they never tell you how much the extra shipping charge is).

I contend for small relatively inexpensive items -- the separate shipping charge probably covers the cost of the second item -- and both items can probably shipped at the same cost as one item.

The bottom line for me is, don't try to BS and dupe me with phony advertising, trying to make me think I'm getting something for nothing, as that's a surefire way to turn me off to the product being sold.

Oh dear!!! Don't get me started on the "buy one, get one free or buy one, get the second for half off".  Of course I always ask "can I go ahead and just take the "free" one?" Then when they flash me the dirty look I say quite sweetly "then the second one isn't free, is it?" Cool
