Remembering Janis Joplin

Happy Birthday Janis Joplin.
Love her or hate her, she was a great singer and icon of the 60's Woodstock generation.  IMHO she might be the greatest female blues singer, ever.  She popularized older hits such as Ball And Chain, and Summertime.  Her hit, One Good Man, written for her by guitarist Mike Bloomfield, may have been about her love affair with Johnny Winter.
As with so many of that time, Janis overdosed on heroin October 4, 1970.
Janis would be 75 today.

Janis and Jimi died within a few months of each other in 1970.

I remember when they died.  I was paranoid concerning conspiracy issues back then.  I remember sharing my thoughts I had that Nixon thought these entertainers were too influential
on youth and supposedly the Black Panthers were trying to convert Hendrix to their cause.  Over the years I let go of those paranoid thoughts.  Then one day I came across a low budget speculative documentary of rumors that the gov't had assassinated certaininfluential rock stars, making it appear as drug overdoses, something they knew the public would believe.

Ready for this?

I wondered if I was the one who started the rumor.   Shocked Cheesy
