....small town cops are the worst, they're usually related to someone in local government or they're rejects from major police departments. Unless you were born and raised there, be careful. Sad

Statistics/ evidence/study got one? Or have you mistaken your opinion to suffice for the rest of us?

Good Lord, look at the number of pages on this!!!

This is NOT rocket science.  It's simply a matter of disrespect.  I don't think the first amendment should be interpreted to allow one to disrespect another.

In fact, most cities have laws against bad-mouthing a cop.

..... would you work for a small town police department for a fraction of what a major police department would pay you 'and with little chance for advancement' if you had a choice?  Undecided

After reply #12, the thread was merged with another which was very old.  Looks are deceiving.

During the time I served time as a HS teacher, I often explained some facts of life to students. If a teacher stops you in the hallway for some reason, and you smart off at him or her, you can probably count on getting a referral. Now apply that lesson to the officer who pulls you over. Class dismissed. You're welcome.

I live in a small town of approx. 8000.  The police here are all glad to have work.  Eventually, after gaining some experience, they move on to higher paying jobs.

It's called, "capitalism"!

There are people who like the "Country Life".  Small towns quite often have State Cops instead of Police so pay is not a problem.

....State Police are major police agencies, State Troopers may live in rural areas, but they DO NOT work for 'small towns' and do not respond to small town calls such as 'domestic violence' etc.  All Counties have Sheriff departments who patrol unincorporated areas, and sometimes cover small towns in need, they are considered major police departments.

Answer my question about YOU having any evidence to back up your initial statement.

You have a problem with cops. You have badmouthed them before.

So, show me the data that backs up your statement.
