You can always count on the CoC to screw the working man.

Republicans consider the unthinkable: A gas tax increase to pay for infrastructure

Mortimer says the Chamber of Commerce has studied the future of the gas tax and believes it will be viable for another 10 years. He said Republicans are right to consider alternative taxes, but they should take immediate action now to raise the gas tax.

I couldn't get past the first paragraph.

Quote:
Republicans are weighing whether to raise the federal gas tax. It's an idea they are prone to hate, but they may need it to pay for President Trump’s infrastructure investment plan.

Imo, that's B.S. right there. The republicans love spending taxpayer money as much as the demokrats do.  Oh, I bet they would protest otherwise, but that would be 'theater', as usual.

When it comes to spending it's business as usual.

The budget would have been OK, if Trump had listed the bureaus and departments, he wanted to eliminate.  We definitely need a stronger military and a wall.
With 23.8 million employees, I had hoped he'd cut back on some of the wasted bureaus, etc.

As for the "freedom" bunch, there's obviously no room for Constitutionalists in our government.  Too blasted many commies that hate the constitution!

Even the pubs are beginning to agree with some of the commie/socialist ideas.  Example:  Abortion, Charities in the form of monetary, or military support for foreign countries, etc., etc.

One thing everyone is overlooking---he promised to bring the troops home from Afgodforsakenstan and instead, he added 4000 more troops to a dump that has no strategic value to us that I can see--except to waste money and lives.

I'm still supporting him, because the alternative is too horrible to contemplate!
