Massachusetts' ban on assault weapons doesn't violate 2nd Amendment, judge rules
By Elizabeth Zwirz | Fox News

A judge in Massachusetts on Friday ruled against a lawsuit that questioned the state’s ban on assault weapons and large-capacity magazines, declaring that the weapons were not protected by the Second Amendment.

Assault weapons are considered to be military firearms, U.S. District Judge William Young said in his ruling, therefore disqualifying them from being included in a citizen’s right to “bear arms.”

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Hmmm? Apparently that judge is saturated with THC? That's the magic ingredient in marijuana.

Funy, but I don't see ANYTHING in "The right of the people to keep and bear arms" mentioning an exception for "Military style." Not to mention the idiocy of calling AR-15s and the like "military style" in the first place.

These kinds of justices need to be stripped of their robes for violating their oath to uphold the Constitution, then charged and convicted of high treason, stripped of their citizenship and tossed unceremoniously across the nearest international border. (If that nearest border lands them in the middle of an ocean, too fracking bad.)

The AR-15 is a "military style" firearm, no question about that.  Even though the AR-15 was first sold to civilians before Colt bought them and acquired a military contract for the firearms.  What AR-15s are not, however, are "assault weapons."

The FBI defined "assault weapons" in 1934 to be "fully automatic firearms."  The anti-American leftist morons in the media, however, decided that if it looks like something the military might use it must be an "assault weapon."  By the official FBI definition, no semi-automatic firearm - regardless of its appearance - can be construed as an "assault weapon."

People can try and define 'assault weapons' all they want. Assault is a verb and not a noun. If one person hits another with a golf club, it then becomes an assault club. It is just another made up term to scare people.

My belief is that the purpose of the 2nd amendment is precisely to protect the citizens' right to own military weapons. That is what the phrase "well regulated militia" means. After all, peashooters aren't very effective against whatever weapons a tyrannical government may use against citizens that it might deem to be a threat. But, as others have pointed out, these so-called "assault rifles" should not even be under discussion in this context.
