California rejects proposed border duties for troops

The Trump administration said Monday that California Gov. Jerry Brown rejected terms of the National Guard’s initial deployment to the Mexican border, but a state official said nothing was decided.

“The governor determined that what we asked for is unsupportable, but we will have other iterations,” Ronald Vitiello, U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s acting deputy commissioner, told reporters in Washington.

Brown was clear last week that California troops will help go after drugs, guns and criminal gangs, but not immigrants. Drawing that line will likely prove difficult because the Border Patrol combats illegal immigration but also drug smuggling and other crimes.

I guess since the word illegal doesnt mean anything, the word national doesnt mean anything.

Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.~John Jay

Gov. Moonbeam is an idiot.  This is not the first time anti-American Democrats have tried to impede the President's use of the National Guard.  The Supreme Court in Perpich v. Department of Defense, 496 U.S. 334 (1990) unanimously held that Governors may not impede the deployment of the FEDERAL National Guard.

Only Democrats are under the delusion that the National Guard somehow belong to the States.  The National Guard answers to the Commander-In-Chief, the President of the United States.  Governors may use the National Guard for State emergencies, but only after they have obtained written permission from the White House.
