NFL considers proposed 15-yard penalty for kneeling, report says
By Elizabeth Zwirz | Fox News

NFL owners, during a meeting Tuesday, reportedly considered a new punishment for players who choose to kneel during the national anthem: a 15-yard penalty against the team.

Under the proposal, the home team would decide whether both sides should be on the field during the Star Spangled Banner -- and if so, 15-yard penalties would be handed out if anyone kneels, Sports Illustrated reported.

NFL players mulling new anthem protests 'to spite' league over planned crackdown: report
By Ryan Gaydos | Fox News

Some NFL players are reportedly planning new protests during the national anthem “just to spite the NFL” in wake of the league’s new anti-kneeling policy that was announced Wednesday.

The players, who weren’t planning on demonstrating during the national anthem this season, said they were looking for way to “skirt” the new NFL rules, Sports Illustrated reported Thursday.

Philly mayor slams Trump as 'not a true patriot' after Eagles get nixed from White House ceremony
By Lukas Mikelionis | Fox News

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney slammed President Trump as “not a true patriot” and “a fragile egomaniac” after the Super Bowl Champion Eagles were disinvited from the White House on Monday.

The Eagles were disinvited from the ceremony set for Tuesday amid the national anthem controversy.

Trump said the team is “unable” to attend because they don’t share his view that NFL players should “proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country."

They make me ashamed that they are from Florida.  I wish these drama queens would move to another state.  Their inane actions accomplish NOTHING but a smear on the sport of football.  I'm thankful I am not really a football fan, so no loss to me.  I hope baseball never gets a blot like that.  Would hate to give up watching baseball.
