WHY IS THIS NOT A BLOWOUT?
November 5, 2018disabled in your browser.</div></div>
Why is the media so oblivious? The answer is really obvious.
During the Sunday edition of ABC’s Good Morning America, they touted President Trump’s job approval rating slipping to 40 percent. Despite that good news to them, co-anchor Dan Harris was seemingly dismayed as he turned to Clinton lackey George Stephanopoulos, asking: “why is this not a blowout?”
Stephanopoulos gave Harris a couple of reasons for why Republicans were still in the game this close to Election Day. First, was that “the economy is doing very, very well”. Although, Stephanopoulos downplayed the U.S.’s 3.7 percent unemployment rate, suggesting it was the lowest rate in years rather than decades. He also failed to note the 3.1 percent bump to wages.
The second reason the GOP wasn’t down and out, was because Trump was popular with Republicans and “the Republican base doesn't appear to be depressed, and they appear to be engaged ready to vote.”

George is, literally, a former Dem operative. Dan Harris hosted a game show and wrote a book, and I'm quoting Wikipedia here,
Harris' book, 10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge, and Found Self-Help That Really Works – a True Story, was published in March 2014. Harris states that the issue that prompted his self-examination, which led him to write the book, was an on-air panic attack on June 7, 2004. In the book, Harris recounts how—with the help of various mental health professionals, religious leaders, self-help gurus, and news industry mentors—he stopped using drugs (cocaine and Ecstasy), discovered the benefits of meditation, and resolved the apparent conflict between meditation-induced equanimity and the aggressive competitiveness required for success as a TV-news journalist.
ABC News has really tapped into the voice of ordinary Americans here. And these "ordinary folks" sometimes stop using cocaine long enough to learn to meditate and wonder why everyone doesn't agree with them.
Also apparently the economy is good. Who knew?

The last poll I read said Trump was at 51%.  Can't say true, or false, but certainly better than any poll of democrats.

Despite the fact there's a lot of discussion over "who's winning", I remain certain we will remain in control.
(I'm surprised ANY democrat even HINTED things are better!) Wink

The reason the Polls for the midterm are wrong is that of course you will have a dem majority, in just a few huge areas like NY, California, NJ and the lib strong holds. THAT means nothing in the mid terms because they already own those places.

I remember a hilarious bumper sticker just after the 2000 election in FL.

"Don't blame me!...I voted for both of them!'

Gee, I thought the question was "why haven't the Democrats been rejected in overwhelming numbers?"

That is why I do not understand.  I don't understand how so many people are into the craziness and filth that is the Democrat Party.

I would never ask the question as to why Republicans are being voted for.

If an Independent Voter is a person who sometimes votes Democrat and sometimes Republican, there have not been any of those in 20 to 25 years.  There could not possibly be anyone who does not feel strongly one way or the other.
