What did Soros and Obama do for Texas

Familia,

Ganamos -- We have won.

Texas today is much brighter than when we started because of what we've done together. The walls that our failed leadership put up to keep our communities disenfranchised have trained us to sprint, jump, and even fly. And we are witness to that today more than ever before.

This cycle, we saw more Texans turn out than ever before for a midterm election. More than 8.3 million Texans decidedly marched to the polls. We saw that the people showing up to cast a ballot have begun to reflect the population and beautiful diversity of our state. More first-time voters turned out during our early voting period in Texas than anywhere else in the country. The youth vote surged up 500% during early voting! Our LatinX community increased its voting power by a larger margin than any other ethnic group in the state. And every single one of these votes has paid off.

Nine out of the ten women that Battleground Texas endorsed were elected last night. Our efforts together flipped five Texas House seats from GOP incumbents to Democratic women -- Ana-Maria Ramos HD102, Terry Meza HD105, Rhetta Bowers HD113, Julie Johnson HD115, and Gina Calanni HD132 -- and we held onto the seats of State Representatives Victoria Neave HD107 and Mary Ann Perez HD144. Together we took control of Harris County away from GOP men and worked to elect Lina Ortega as County Judge and Dianne Troutman as County Clerk.

And this fills my heart. You and I worked so hard to make this happen. You and I together expanded the electorate by registering 55,000 more Texans to vote this cycle, bringing our all-time total to more than 171,000 registered voters across the state.

And what's even more inspiring is the make-up of the more than 171,000 Texans we've registered: 69% of those are young voters under 35, 61% are voters of color (including 39% LatinX, 18% African American, and 4% Asian American), and 56% are women.

It's amazing what Texans organizing Texans has accomplished, and I'm filled with hope and joy thinking about what we can accomplish next. This year has helped drive newer energy into the infrastructure that groups like Battleground Texas and other Democrats in Texas have been working on for years. This cycle's races shined a light on how Texas Democrats have been working together in a united platform, and from grassroots volunteers to statewide strategies there is unity and a common goal. We have an even larger and healthier grassroots infrastructure that will keep capturing the energy that this political climate will inevitably fuel and will continue to work to make Texas more competitive for Democrats. We will build upon what we started a long time ago and have kept going. We won't stop here. We won't give up. We will press on for the even greater Texas that we know we can be.

We will continue to watch out for every child's future. We will advocate for and fight for all women's rights. We will do it for every single working family struggling to make it in this state. We will do it for every immigrant fighting for decency and a chance at the American Dream. We will do it for every Texan who has been left behind by those who should lift them up, rather than bring them down.

Texas: We've always known this is a long-term battle, and we are more prepared than ever to continue fighting it. And today I'm asking you to do just that. Do not let up. Do not be defeated nor satisfied. There is a lot of work to do still, but we are closer than ever before, and we know how to do it.

Familia, I'm counting on you. ¡Adelante, juntos!

Oscar

There is no need to be concerned.  Texas will go Socialist a bit slower that other states, but all states will be there in the next 20 to 30 years.  If the best economy ever and lowering taxes won't convince people things are good, there is no hope.  Free is better.

WOW, you are optimistic.  If Trump wins in 2020, then 8 years after he finishes his tour, 20 at the outside max..

I didn't do the math, but 20 years from now is 2038.  Yea that is about right for the short end of it.

Here is the problem:  The Dims have the magic formula:  Socialism, everything is free all are equal and the govt will take care of you.

What you end up with is what we had under Obama, America had more takers then it had makers.

We had about 95 million taxpayers supporting 230 million people.  So Obama borrowed $1 Trillion a year to support it and the longer he stayed in office the more takers he created.

Only the people can defeat Socialism.  At some point the people rise up and say no more, but it takes a long time to get there and in almost all cases Socialism welcomes a communist style of govt, a dictator, generally elected, in fact there are around 40+ dictatorships in the world and almost all have been elected.

Obama would have been elected as many times as he wanted if it were allowed.

You are RIGHT and I am convinced he is looking down the road if things can move fast enough.  He is 57 so he has got 15 years to play he figures or he can line up his hand picked and groomed 'boy' to run for him...

No, by the time you suggested most or all of them will be deceased due to lead poisoning. What will convince people is a good economy, when it reaches the people.  So far it is slowly and surely descending from on high with hinderance by the Communist Party USA (DNC)..
