An interesting perspective on "the Wall"

Trump is asking for $5.7 Billion out of an annual budget of $4.407 Trillion.  In other words, Trump is asking for $57 out of an annual budget of $44,070.... Imagine your other half saying "We're not going back to work, the kids aren't getting allowances, and no bills are getting paid until you give up the idea of spending $57 to fence in our yard.."

This is the basis upon which Pelosi and Schumer have halted our government.

The trouble with good ideas is that they quickly deteriorate into hard work....

It’s not about the money.
It’s not about the wall.
It’s about following their orders to resist President Trump.

It is interesting to look at the money issue.  HOW EV ER, it never has been about the money.  So don't get into the weeds about it.  They probably spend more on ketchup packets.

It is about not allowing President Trump what he campaigned on and the fact that neither party wants to close the border.  NEITHER.

Your example puts it in a much clearer and easily understood perspective for those that can't reason with large dollar figures. Any logical person would agree walls (knowing the properly constructed wall, walls that US military special forces couldn't climb over) is a sound investment because it prevents all the additional costs to the tax payer to deal with aliens once they cross the border and are apprehended, when there is no wall to stop them.

Like others, it's not about the money, it's because anti wall folks know full well the new prototype walls are nearly 100% effective against the average alien trying to cross our borders.

I said before, even if Mexico were to write a check today for the wall the Democrats would still be opposed to a wall.

BINGO!  You nailed it.  Even worse, there seems to be no way around this. Evidently citizens cannot be allowed to do it themselves even if they have the money, which they do not.
We need to take our country back from self serving politicians but I do not see that happening anytime soon. So...the tsunami continues, maybe not a fast but still coming. Another caravan leaving Central America in a few days for the land of free everything.

The wall is just a political football. The Democrats wouldn't want it even if it was for free, or even if someone offered to pay them for allowing it to be built.

Nancy said something like: "We'll have to pass it to find out what's in it."  [the First Muslims healthcare bill]

Lib's don't read their own bills.  Bills are put together by staff, who coordinate with financial advisors (military industrial complex, pharmaceuticals, climate change radicals, lawyers) so that Members investment accounts flourish.

So why would they read anything for POTUS?  Never.  They are going to say no to anything our President wants, doesn't matter what it is.
For DJT's part, the man's a genius, he's pulling our great military out of the toilet countries.  That'll hurt the military industrial complex which will put a dint in Nancy's portfolio.
   Great move!

The democrats want Trump to fail on his wall promise in the hopes that it will erode his base and help the democrats to win in 2020.
