The Electoral Question

Subject: ELECTORAL COLLEGE--REFRESHER

This is exactly why the Founding Fathers called for the Electoral College. I would be horrified to think that the election could be controlled by the Liberal Nutcases in California.
Very important read to refresh your understanding of the electoral college.

319 Square Miles
A 39 second read you will want to pass on.

In their infinite wisdom, the United States' Founders created the Electoral College to ensure the STATES were fairly represented.
Why should one or two densely populated areas speak for the whole of the nation? The following list of statistics has been making the rounds on the Internet. It should finally put an end to the argument as to why the Electoral College makes sense.
Do share this. It needs to be widely known and understood.
There are 3,141 counties in the United States.
Trump won 3,084 of them.
Clinton won 57.
There are 62 counties in New York State.
Trump won 46 of them.
Clinton won 16.
Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.
In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)
Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.
These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.
The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles.
When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.
Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.) DO NOT and SHOULD NOT speak for the rest of our country!
Well worth the 39 seconds to read? Please pass it on!

The drive to get rid of the electoral college is an attempt at voter nullification pure and simple. Also notice how these DemonCraps never come to those red counties. In 2016, Serial Killery only came to Wisconsin once, an' that was before the primary. An' she only came to Milwaukee, a blue county. In fact the only counties any of the DemonCrap candidates ever come to are Milwaukee, Dane an' LaCrosse, all blue counties. I for once would like to see them come to Sauk, Monroe or Adams counties. All red counties. I guess they are jus' to chicken.

As I posted shortly after the 2016 election:

If Hillary's majorities in New York City and Los Angeles County are removed from Hillary's popular vote in the 2016 election, Trump had a majority of the popular vote.

I don't think it would of mattered if there was an E.C. or not.
Trump did nearly ZERO campaigning in NY, NJ, California and other Dem strong holds.
Ya don't think if he went to these states he wouldn't of picked up another 1.5 million votes?

Remember he was all but run out of Chicago?  That embarrasses me as a resident of Illinois and former resident of Chicago.

He couldn't even have a campaign appearance there.  So yes, I think he could have won even more votes if he had visited other places.

Thanks for this.  It really puts some things in perspective.  I will have my daughter read it also!
