PLEASE share this spreadsheet with every young person you know.  Have them watch the video, and then GET STARTED on their retirement nest eggs!

A 16-year-old only has 18,262 days to save money before reaching the age of 66.

To young people, they always think they have an eternity to plan for their retirement, but this spreadsheet is a clod slap in the face to wake them up to the fact that they'd better get on it, and FAST.

Do you realize that if a teen actually manages to save $50.00 in a savings account every single day of his or her life, at the age of 66, that teen will have LESS THAN one million dollars.  I cannot imagine how little that will be, 50 YEARS from now.

Now, this spreadsheet DOES NOT take interest into consideration, but it also does not factor in inflation.  This is just a cold, hard "Stuff money into a mattress!" accounting of any savings a person may be able to keep.

Today's teens are quick to buy the newest "smart phone" or other cheap piece of crap from China ... but they simply do not realize that in 50 years, if they haven't figured out SOME WAY to have five .. or TEN MILLION DOLLARS tucked away, they're going to be living under a bridge!

I created this spreadsheet in the hopes that people will be able to monitor their life savings in real time, and get a clear picture of their financial futures.  Interest earned can be entered into the green boxes as savings too.

I hope this helps someone.  I did not plan for my future, and I am DEEPLY regretting it now.  Embarrassed

Let the Millennials starve to death.  They seem to be embracing socialism, not self reliance so trying to help them is a waste of my valuable time I have left on this Earth.

I do not care about the welfare of the Millennials, or should I say I care about them as much as they care about me.

I was thinking about that scene from "The Breakfast Club" where the teacher is talking with the janitor.  The teacher says what wakes him up in the middle of the night is the thought that when he gets old, and these kids are grown, they are gonna take care of him.

The janitor replies...."I wouldn't count on it!"  Wink

I almost feel bad for millennials.  They didn't get to experience real music back from the '60's.  I was channel surfing earlier and noticed that teenybopper MTV music awards show was on.  Some Spanish type NSYNC group came on.  I thought that immature
crotch grabbing stuff faded out.   Roll Eyes  What garbage.  And these
teenybopper girls obviously enjoy it.  Roll Eyes

It took me quite some time to clean up the financial mess I had made earlier in life, but I finally came to be debt free.  Even after we helped both sons pay off their mortgages as well as our own.
Only regret was that (because of my past misdeeds) I was unable to put my sons through college.  They both work, but with a better education they could have gotten better employment.  So now we have been putting away some savings
for our granddaughter's future education.   She is six.  But I already know that 'this too shall pass' and she'll be a teen before ya know it.   I only hope that I will still be around to see her grow up.  Smiley

It boggles my mind, how they will vote for some POS like Warren or Sanders, and cheer at the promise of taking money away from the billionaires!

Yet, they are CLUELESS about what it took to become a billionaire, and they also do not understand that, if they vote for that, and THEY become wealthy, THEIR wealth will be taken from them to support the next generation of leeches.

I weep for America, because I do not see how young people can possibly make it.  An education?  Sure.  But what good is earning a lot of money in a society that robs you of your earnings because YOU were successful?

The liberals are not even hiding their agendas now.  They don't want to "tax" the rich.  They want to go into their bank accounts to take a huge chunk of their assets!  I really do see a bloody civil war in the not-to-distant future.

If memory serves me, Breakfast Club was a 1985 movie, so those high school kids would have been born in the late 60's which would make them Gen Xers.  From my experience in the workplace, Gen Xers much more had their crap together than the Millennials.  By far.  Never in my life have I ever seen so many people have so many personal problems as the Millenials. They seem to live for it.

The last ten years of the business, before selling and retiring, I had to fire more millennials than all the other groups combined.  There are exceptions, of course, but as a whole, I have no use for them.  Sad to say, but true.

They crave the attention.  Mommy and Daddy told them from birth they were special and pampered them into whiney nothings with a sense of entitlement ... schools praised their incompetence and never let them fail or grow up ... Facebook gave them 250,000 adoring fans ... Twitter lets them tweet their bruised ego to the masses and receive hugs and kisses from the masses in return.   I think a lot of this gender identity crap is nothing more than another way to receive the attention they crave.

The young people need to get off the social media crap and study personal finance. Years ago I began to study finance and investing. I put my money into various things and along the way obtained some very good advice. Fast forward, I'm now old and financially sound. It can be done...but you have to be smart about it.

The ones that really surprised me were federal employees.   If they contributed 10% to their defined contribution plan, the government would match 10%.   Yet many ... MANY ... did not contribute one penny.  They literally walked away from that 10% match.   A few, mostly law enforcement, walked out the door as millionaires.
